British super-bantamweight Scott Quigg has successfully defended his WBA belt with a devastating stoppage of Tshifhiwa Munyai.
Quigg was expected to face one of the toughest tests of his career against the awkward South African, but the Bury fighter knocked down his opponent twice before the referee brought a halt to the bout in the second round.
After a cagey opening, Quigg connected with a huge left hook that saw Munyai stumble to the canvas before he managed to make it to the bell.
Munyai came out aggressively in the second, but a right hand from Quigg sent his opponent sprawling into the ropes, and it appeared as though the fight would be brought to an halt.
However, Munyai survived, only for Quigg to unleash a barrage of punches soon afterwards to retain his unbeaten professional record.
