Wladimir Klitschko has retained his heavyweight world titles with a fourth-round knockout of Jean-Marc Mormeck in Dusseldorf.

The Ukrainian asserted his dominance over the 39-year-old from the first bell, rocking Mormeck with stiff jabs whenever he was in range.

Klitschko poured his weight onto the Frenchman whenever he was able to get inside the the champion's guard, which earned him a telling off from referee Luis Pabon.

The writing was on the wall for Mormeck when he was sent to the canvas with a right hook in the second round, and was given a standing eight count.

However, the former cruiserweight world champion was not able to get back up after one minute 12 seconds of round four, following a left-right combination from Klitschko.

It was the 35-year-old's 50th competitive knockout in his 20th world title fight, meaning that he retains his WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight crowns.
