Sofya Ochigava: 'Judges favour Katie Taylor'

Sofya Ochigava has claimed that boxing judges are biased towards her lightweight rival Katie Taylor.

Sofya Ochigava has claimed that boxing judges are biased towards her lightweight rival Katie Taylor.

The pair go head to head for the gold medal in tomorrow's final at the ExCel Centre, but the Russian believes that she will start the bout already 10 points behind the Irish fighter.

Ochigava also revealed her belief that Natasha Jonas won the first two rounds of their quarter-final bout on Monday.

"She is one of the best, but she is just another boxer," said Ochigava. "In my opinion, Natasha Jonas won the first two rounds against her, but the judges didn't see it that way.

"When you fight Katie you are already minus 10 points. You are fighting the judges and the whole system and they will try to give her too many points."

Ochigava booked her place in the final with a 17-11 win over Brazil's Adriana Araujo.
