Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's live text commentary of day eight of the Olympic boxing.

It is the round of 16 for the light flyweight, light welterweight and light heavyweight competitors.

Great Britain's Tom Stalker makes his first appearance at the Games in the evening session. He is up against India's Manoj Kumar at around 9.30pm.

Highly-rated Cuban Julio Cesar le Cruz also makes his bow in the tournament against Jordan's Ihab Almatbouli at around 3.30pm.
