Gaibnazarov started on the front foot and pressured Ramirez for the entire three minutes, building up a 6-2 lead.
Ramirez took the lead in the second, but found the Uzbek just as adept on the back foot, being picked off as he threw his jab inaccurately.
Th American trailed by seven points heading into the final round and started briskly as he tried to eat into his deficit.
He landed the best shot of the bout with a great right hand that just shifted the momentum in his favour.
Ramirez had the impetus now and Gaibnazarov was hanging on as the seconds ticked away.
In the end, the Uzbek held on for a 15-11 verdict.
