Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin believes that his side's bowlers "earned the right" to dismantle England's batting lineup during the afternoon session on day two.
England lost six wickets for 41 runs during a dominate middle session in Brisbane, and Haddin has admitted that period has put Australia into a "good position" heading into the final three days of the match.
The 36-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It was a tough day, but we had to earn the right to get those wickets in the middle session.
"I thought that we built up some great pressure going into that hour-and-a-half, and the game is in a good position with three days to go."
Australia ended the day with a 224-run advantage, after reaching the close on 65-0.
