Australia's Brad Haddin confirms retirement from one-day international cricket

Australia vice-captain Brad Haddin confirms his retirement from one-day international cricket.

Australia vice-captain Brad Haddin has revealed that he will not compete in another one-day international following his side's World Cup victory in Melbourne.

The Aussies executed a seven-wicket win over co-hosts New Zealand on Sunday.

During the celebrations, Haddin confirmed his intentions to stand down and revealed that he and his teammates felt "uncomfortable" with how friendly New Zealand were in their pool fixture in Auckland.

"All they were was that nice to us for seven days," Haddin told Triple M. "I said, 'I'm not playing cricket like this. If we get another crack at these guys in the final I'm letting everything [out].' I'm not playing another one-day game, so they can suspend me for as long as they like."

Captain Michael Clarke has also retired from the ODI circuit.
