Sean Abbott will not play for club side Sydney University this weekend as he continues to come to terms with the death of Phil Hughes.
The 25-year-old passed away last week, two days after being struck by Abbott's bouncer while batting for South Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Although the official team list has yet to have been submitted, it is understood that the all-rounder will sit out his club's meeting with Northern District, while Sydney Uni will allow the player to make a welcome return should he wish to play come Saturday.
Hughes was laid to rest in his hometown of Macksville earlier this week.
