Michael Clarke was the only man to fall in a shortened morning session after misjudging a straight delivery from Shaminda Erange.

Kumar Sangakara was on hand to take a clinical catch at first slip and stop Clarke in his tracks on 75 runs.

Matthew Wade came in to help Michael Hussey steady the ship, scoring 31 runs from just 81 balls to set a frantic pace.

Sri Lanka failed to make any further inroads in a potent Aussie attack to leave the hosts on 364-5 heading into the break.
