Adam Voges has agreed to rejoin Middlesex for the upcoming 2016 season.
The 36-year-old will spend two periods at Lord's that have been designed to work around his international commitments with Australia and the availability of Brendon McCullum.
Voges will begin the season in April and then depart in June, before returning in the middle of August until the end of the campaign.
"Adam's return is something we are all delighted with," director of cricket Angus Fraser told the club's official website.
"He may not have spent a huge amount of time with us but during the time he has been with us he has made an extremely positive impression. Adam continues to show what a high quality player he is and we know what a top bloke he is."
The right-hander, who has had two previous spells with Middlesex, will captain the team in the County Championship.
