Australia captain Michael Clarke has said that he is "extremely happy" after his side clinched victory in the one-day international series against England.
The Baggy Greens picked up a 49-run victory over the Three Lions at the Ageas Bowl on Monday night to secure a 2-1 win over five matches.
Clarke believes that the triumph was just what Australia needed after their crushing defeat in the Ashes earlier this summer.
"I'm extremely happy to win the series," Clarke told BBC Sport. "To a lot of people this ODI series does not mean much, but to the Australia players it means a lot.
"I don't know whether it will have much impact on the Ashes back home, but we get the flight back home [on Tuesday] a lot happier as a one-day side."
The two nations meet again in the Ashes in Australia in November.
