Shane Watson has been included in Australia's squad for their second Test match against South Africa starting on Thursday.
The 31-year-old all-rounder missed the first drawn Test at the Gabba with a calf injury but has been given the green light to be included in the team.
However, Watson will be assessed before the match at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
"Shane Watson is making steady progress from his calf injury, but it is too early to determine if he will be fit to come under consideration for selection," said national selector John Inverarity.
Batsman Rob Quiney, who replaced Watson in Brisbane for the first Test, has retained his place in the team.
