Australia captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of the fourth and final Test against India in Delhi.
The 31-year-old inflamed a degenerative condition in his lower back during the third Test defeat and has been unable to train for the past two days.
Shane Watson, who was dropped for the match in Mohali due to indiscipline, will captain the team in his absence.
He only returned to the tour this week after returning home for the birth of his first child.
The Test gets underway today with Australia trailing 3-0 in the series.
