Shane Watson's heroics count for little

Shane Watson becomes the second Australian to score a Twenty20 century, but India still run out winners in Sydney.

Shane Watson's unbeaten knock of 124 runs was not enough to prevent Australia from slipping to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of India during the Twenty20 encounter between the two nations in Sydney earlier today.

The recalled Watson, who had replaced the injured Aaron Finch at the top of the order, became just the second Australian to reach three figures in the shortest format of the game.

Travis Head and Usman Khawaja also weighed in with 26 and 14 runs respectively as the hosts scored 197-5 from their 20 overs.

However, despite the fact that the match went down to the last ball, the Aussies could not stop India from wrapping up a 3-0 series whitewash.

Rohit Sharma top-scored with 52, while Virat Kohli (50) and Suresh Raina (49*) also provided useful contributions to help the tourists reach 200-3.
