Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim has revealed that he could return as captain of the national team just a week after stepping down from the role.
The 24-year-old decided to relinquish the captaincy following his side's three-match one-day international series defeat to Zimbabwe, citing that he had concerns over his ability as a leader.
Despite announcing his decision, Rahim has since made a U-turn, claiming that he will discuss his next step with the country's cricket board BCB.
"After resigning I have realised that I should have discussed the matter with the BCB, who have made me the captain," ESPN quotes Rahim as saying.
"It was my mistake. People from the BCB have told me that we will hold discussions when I am back. I have let them know my decision, now it's for them to decide."
Rahim was appointed as captain in September 2011.
