Bangladesh duo Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes lead spirited fightback against Pakistan

Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes lead a spirited fightback for Bangladesh as they reach tea against Pakistan 142 without loss.

Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes have unleashed a spirited comeback in their second innings against Pakistan by ending the afternoon session on 142 without loss.

The tourists were bowled all out for 628 before lunch on day four of the first Test in Khulna.

At the time of the dismissal, Pakistan had stretched their lead to 296 runs, leaving Iqbal and Kayes to respond with the bat just before lunch.

It could have been a disastrous start for Iqbal as Junaid Khan's shout for an lbw from the first ball went to review, but it was eventually dismissed.

After lunch, the batsman totted up his tally in impressive fashion and managed to seal a Test half-century, while his partnership with Kayes continued to thrive.

Iqbal is currently unbeaten having scored 85 runs off 98 balls, while Kayes will also resume at the crease for the evening session after hitting 56 off 89 deliveries.

Bangladesh trail by 154 runs.
