England's James Anderson has continued his war of words with Michael Clarke ahead of this winter's Ashes series, calling the Australia captain "paranoid".
Anderson was responding to claims Clarke made in his Ashes Diary that the Burnley-born bowler consciously ignored him whenever he tried to be polite.
However, the 31-year-old denied that that was the case and suggested that Clarke was looking too much into his on-field behaviour rather than what he is like outside of a game situation.
"No. I think he is possibly being a bit paranoid. I've nothing against him at all," PA quotes Anderson as saying when asked whether he disliked Clarke.
"I don't remember seeing him many times outside a game situation. So if he goes on how I behave in the field, he might think that. I don't know."
The first Ashes Test gets underway in Brisbane on Thursday as Australia look to regain the urn for the first time since the 2006-07 series.
