Andy Flower praises Ben Stokes ton

Andy Flower salutes Ben Stokes for his maiden Test century in England's eventual defeat to Australia in Perth.

England coach Andy Flower has praised Ben Stokes for his "brilliant" maiden Test century in the third Test defeat to Australia.

The 22-year-old all-rounder made 120 in the second innings in Perth as the Three Lions relinquished their grip on The Ashes, becoming the tourists' only centurion in the series to date.

"That was a brilliant Test hundred," Flower told reporters.

"To play on one of the bounciest tracks in the world - that was cracking as well - and in a situation that we were in, I thought that was an outstanding effort."

Stokes came into the team for Chris Tremlett.
