England all-rounder Moeen Ali has paid tribute to Australia captain Michael Clarke ahead of the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval.
The Baggy Greens have largely struggled with the bat during this summer's series, helping England to regain the urn with one Test still to play.
Clarke has been one of those to consistently underperform for the visitors, leading the 34-year-old to announce his retirement at the end of the series.
Ahead of Clarke's final Test match, Ali told Sky Sports News: "They're still a great side, and Michael Clarke is an absolute legend of the game.
"It's obviously a shame when someone has to retire... [but] he's obviously a magnificent player, and captain."
The final Ashes Test of the summer will start on Thursday, August 20.
