Matt Prior hails "brilliant" opening day for England in Ashes first Test

Matt Prior praises England's "brilliant" display after Stuart Broad finishes the opening day of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane with a five-wicket haul.

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has paid tribute to teammate Stuart Broad following his side's impressive display in the opening day of the first Ashes Test.

Australia closed the day on 273-8 after Broad finished on figures of 5-65.

Prior wrote on Twitter: "Brilliant 1st day after losing the toss! So chuffed for @StuartBroad8 showing his class yet again. Long long way to go though!"

Broad was subjected to jeers from the Aussie crowd, but the bowler admitted after play that he "enjoyed" getting booed.
