England have become the number one Test team in the world after defeating India by 242 runs and an innings on day four of the third Test at Edgbaston.
The touring Indians posted a total of 244 all out in their second innings, having made 234 in their opening innings on Wednesday.
In reply England declared on 710-7, with Alastair Cook hitting a career best knock of 294.
The victory puts the hosts into an unassailable 3-0 lead, with the two teams due to meet for the final time in the series at the The Oval next week.
