England are close to leading in the first innings after trailing India 67 runs with no wickets in the morning session.
Play got underway later than scheduled at 11.30am due to rain, with Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook coming out to bat for the home side.
The two batsmen racked up 157 before lunch on day two of the third Test at Edgbaston. The England captain scored 84 runs, while Cook is on his way with 50.
While India have failed to take any wickets since they came in to field in the evening session yesterday, England have had an assured batting start with no alarm.
