Deadline day key events
'Crazy three-way operation' - Man United 'eyeing surprise striker deal'
Manchester United are reportedly keen to recruit El Bilal Toure, with the 23-year-old potentially making the move to Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window as part of a 'crazy three-way operation'.
Toure is currently on loan at Stuttgart from Atalanta BC, and the German outfit have the option to sign him on a permanent basis during this summer's transfer window for a fee in the region of €18m (£15m).
According to FootMercato, Man United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and the Red Devils could approach Stuttgart with a €25m (£20.9m) offer in a bid to bring him to Old Trafford.
The Mali international started his professional career with Reims in France, scoring nine times and registering five assists in 68 appearances for the club in all competitions before moving to Almeria.
Amorim's first signing: Man United 'on verge of completing deal' for 20-year-old
Lecce head coach Marco Giampaolo has confirmed that Patrick Dorgu will fly to England on Saturday to complete a move to Manchester United, with the Denmark international set to become Ruben Amorim's first signing as Red Devils head coach.
The 20-year-old has been a key player for Lecce this season, making 23 appearances in all competitions, including 21 outings in Serie A, but he was an unused substitute against Parma in Serie A on Friday night.
Giampolo revealed after the match that he did not select Dorgu due to his imminent move to Man United, with the 20-time English champions set to confirm his arrival before the end of the weekend.
"It's true," Giampaolo told reporters. "Patrick Dorgu will be flying to Manchester on Saturday. He's a fantastic player and guy. He always did his best for us. I didn't play him tonight as his mind could be already there, Old Trafford."
Can Guardiola salvage the season with £50m midfield target, or is it too late?
Manchester City are reportedly said to be interested in the signature of Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez before the end of the January transfer window.
Pep Guardiola's side managed to beat Club Brugge 3-1 on Wednesday and secure their place in the Champions League round of 16 playoffs.
However, the Citizens will play Real Madrid in the playoff match for a place in the round of 16 against either Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen.
City are also currently fourth in the Premier League with 41 points but trail league-leaders Liverpool by 12 points despite having played a game more.
