England bowler James Anderson has been cleared of a break to his thumb following an X-ray this afternoon.
The 29-year-old sustained an injury while attempting to take a catch during Lancashire's County Championship match against Nottinghamshire.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he has since been cleared of any bone damage.
However, there is reportedly a large amount of swelling around the affected area.
Despite the problem, Lancashire are hopeful that Anderson will be able to continue bowling later on today.
