Captain Andrew Strauss has confirmed that he will be fit for England's upcoming Test series against South Africa.
The opening batsman had been rated doubtful for the series against the number two team in the world with tendinitis.
However, he has played down speculation over his fitness by revealing that he has begun training.
"I'm ready for South Africa. I had a bit of tendinitis, but I've starting batting again and I'm ramping up the preparations," he told BBC Sport. "South Africa are desperate to knock us off our perch as the number one Test side and we're even more desperate for that not to happen."
The first Test between the two nations gets underway on July 19 at the Kia Oval.
