England seamer Tim Bresnan has signed a deal to play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash this winter.
The 29-year-old was left out of the England squad for the current tour of Sri Lanka, despite being included in the provisional 30-man squad for next year's World Cup.
Hobart have moved to secure the services of the Yorkshire bowler for the Twenty20 competition, and he will arrive as a replacement for West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy, who will leave the team midway through the tournament to take part in a training camp with his international teammates.
"The KFC T20 Big Bash League is a great competition," Bresnan told Yorkshire's official website. "I have been lucky enough to watch it over the last three of four years and I think it is great, they put on a proper show and I can't wait to get a taste of it."
The Hurricanes begin their Big Bash campaign against the Melbourne Stars on December 20.
