Stuart Broad: 'Rankings mean nothing at World Cup'

England's Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad has said that being the top-ranked team in the world will count for nothing at the World Cup.

The 26-year-old believes that momentum at the tournament is more important the being world number one.

Broad told the Daily Mail: "Rankings, when you get into a World Cup, don't mean a huge amount. You look through this World Cup, and there are five or six teams who could win it - it's really hard to choose.

"Of course, we're proud to be number one and proud to have won the World Cup last time. But the rankings don't mean anything when you step out on to that field."

The ICC World Twenty20 gets underway in Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
