England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has admitted that he feels "devastated" by the news that teammate James Taylor has been forced to retire from cricket due to a heart condition.
The 26-year-old batsman announced the news on Tuesday, revealing that he has been diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Arrhythmia (ARVC).
The condition is similar to the one that caused retired Bolton Wanderers footballer Fabrice Muamba to suffer a cardiac arrest during a game in 2012.
On Twitter and Instagram, Buttler wrote: "Devastated to hear the news @jamestaylor20 forced to retire. Immensely talented, dedicated to his profession and a great lad. Get well soon.
