England batsman Nick Compton is hopeful that a good Test series performance against New Zealand will cement his place in the side.
Compton replaced the retired Andrew Strauss in the England batting lineup in the Three Lions' tour of India and had a steady start to his Test career.
Compton told thisisdevon: "I think it will be quite tough playing in the conditions in New Zealand but, if I can play anything like I did last summer, then hopefully I can get a couple of good scores and cement my place in the side.
"It's quite clear that this is a big series for me and I'm not looking any further than the games against New Zealand."
England's Test series against the Kiwis begins on March 6 at Dunedin.
