England's one-day international against South Africa has been abandoned following a rain-soaked day in Cardiff.
The two sides experienced a host of delays throughout the day after the 10.30am start time was put back until the afternoon due to adverse weather conditions.
While some play managed to get underway at 3pm, only 5.3 overs were thrown by South Africa, who opted to bowl this morning, which allowed England to claim 37-0 at the crease.
England will hold on to their number one status in the ODI rankings for now but they were forced to relinquish their spot as the world's best Test side following a 3-0 defeat to the Proteas.
