Report: Adam Lyth faces England axe for Pakistan tour

Adam Lyth will not be selected to play for England against Pakistan in the UAE next month, according to reports.

England opener Adam Lyth will be dropped for the upcoming tour to play Pakistan, according to reports.

The Yorkshire left-hander has struggled in the Ashes, with a top score of just 37 so far, and his place is reportedly under threat.

The Guardian claims that Moeen Ali will be given a chance to stake his claim in the one-day series against Australia over the coming weeks, while Alex Hales will also be considered for Lyth's spot in the team.

Lyth was handed his Test debut against New Zealand in May, and scored a century in the second match of the series.

However, he averages 12.8 in the five Ashes Tests so far.
