Steven Finn to leave England tour of Australia early

Steven Finn is sent home early by England to work on the technical aspect of his game despite their current ODI series in Australia.

Steven Finn will miss the rest of England's one-day international series in Australia and return home to work on the technical aspect of his game.

The bowler has struggled with his rhythm and pace in the Three Lions practice matches and did not feature in either England's 5-0 Ashes rout or Sunday's defeat in the first of five ODIs.

"Steven is one of our most talented bowling assets who has played and will continue to play an important role for England," England's limited over head coach Ashley Giles told reporters on Wednesday.

"He has been working hard over the last couple of months on technical aspects of his bowling and Steven and the coaches all feel continuing this work out of the performance environment will be beneficial for him."

Finn becomes the third member of England's shambolic tour of Australia to head back to home soil, after top-order batsman Jonathan Trott returned to deal with a stress-related illness and off-spinner Graeme Swann announcing his shock retirement from international cricket.
