Former England batsman Mike Gatting has been named as the new president of the Marylebone Cricket Board (MCC).
Gatting, 55, was announced as the new president at the club's AGM by Mike Griffith, who currently holds the role at the MCC.
Gatting will begin his tenure on October 1 and will oversee a significant year in the club's history, during which it will celebrate the bicentenary of Lord's.
The MCC, which retains responsibility for the game's laws, has also announced a 'masterplan' for the redevelopment of Lord's, which is due to be completed in 2027.
Gatting scored 4,409 runs in 79 Tests, including 23 as captain.
