Colin Graves elected England and Wales Cricket Board chairman

The ECB confirms that Colin Graves has been elected as its new chairman.

Colin Graves has been elected as the new chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Graves, who currently serves as Yorkshire's chairman and ECB deputy chairman, will replace Giles Clarke in May.

His election was confirmed on Tuesday, with the ECB noting that Graves's nomination was "unopposed and approved by the 41 members" of the organisation.

Graves will serve a five-year term as chairman.

"It is a great honour and a privilege to be elected as ECB chairman and I would like to thank the membership of the ECB for offering me their full support," he told the ECB's official website.

"I would also like to express my gratitude to Giles for his outstanding leadership of ECB over the past eight years; a period which has seen unprecedented levels of investment in all areas of the game."

Clarke leaves the ECB having spent the past 10 years as chairman.
