Around 2,000 police officers are deployed for security reasons ahead of England's first ODI against India in Rajkot on Friday.

The extensive security arrangements for England's first one-day international with India have been revealed.

The two sides get their five-match ODI series underway at the SCA stadium in Rajkot on Friday.

"As many as 1,300 policemen including four SPs (Superintendents) and 25 DySPs (Deputy Superintendents) have been deployed in and outside the SCA stadium where the first ODI between India and England will be played," said Rajkot Police chief Premveer Singh.

"Nearly 500 mediapersons are coming to cover the match and therefore separate security arrangements have been made for them."

Around 125 officers have also been stationed around the hotel where both teams are staying.
