Monty Panesar has admitted that he has not given up hope of earning a recall to the England squad.
The spin-bowler, who recently secured a deal with Northamptonshire, made the last of his 50 Test appearances in December 2013.
However, with a winter tour to India and Bangladesh coming up at the end of the year, Panesar has insisted that he is prepared to "work hard" in order to capture the attention of the selectors.
"I really want to be part of the England setup. If it doesn't happen then at least I tried my best. I'm confident I can bowl the way I used to bowl," the 33-year-old told BBC Sport.
"There's a sub-continent winter tour in Bangladesh and India which keeps me motivated and it's something I want to be part of. I know I've got a lot of hard work ahead of me, but I'm prepared to do that."
Panesar has taken 193 wickets for England over all three formats of the game.
