Eoin Morgan: 'Trevor Bayliss is the right head coach for England'

Eoin Morgan tells Sports Mole that Trevor Bayliss is the right head coach for England due to his ability to peel the game 'back to basics'.

England one-day captain Eoin Morgan believes that new head coach Trevor Bayliss will get English cricket 'back to basics' following his appointment.

The 52-year-old Australian was given the job by the ECB last week and his first task will be to lead England's Ashes campaign in July.

Morgan, who recently retained the one-day captaincy following Andrew Strauss's arrival as ECB director of England cricket, spent two years under Bayliss's guidance at the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.

When asked by Sports Mole if he thinks that Bayliss is the right man for England, Morgan said: "Yes I do. I think it was a very good appointment. The experience that I've had with Trevor has been great - I've had two IPL seasons with the same franchise and it was a successful run when we won the IPL.

"He's a guy who effortlessly takes away any complications of the game and peels it back to its basics. He's somebody that's very relatable too. He doesn't talk a lot of 'BS', he gets straight to the point and that's why I like him."

Bayliss replaces Peter Moores, who was sacked by the ECB last month.
