Kevin Pietersen has landed himself in more hot water after sending text messages to friends within the South Africa team regarding his England teammates.
The 32-year-old batsman, who recently refused to confirm his commitment to international Test cricket, is believed to have sent messages to fast bowler Dale Steyn and wicketkeeper AB de Villiers ahead of England's third Test against their rivals at Lord's next week.
"I can confirm that text messages were sent but they contained friendly banter between guys who have played with each other in the past," South Africa manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee told the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, England will lose their status as the world's number one Test team if they fail to defeat South Africa in the third meeting.
