England Test inclusion delights Mark Wood

Mark Wood expresses his delight at being named in the England Test squad for the first time in his career.

Mark Wood has admitted that he is "delighted" to have been included in the England Test squad for the first time.

The Durham bowler has been limited to just 23 first-class games because of injury, but having impressed during the recent Lions tour of South Africa, the 25-year-old was named in the 16-man selection for the trip to the West Indies next month.

"I am delighted. Especially when I haven't played that many games, it is good that people have seen something in me," he told the ECB's official website.

"The Lions tour was fantastic and couldn't have gone any better for me. I managed to put a run of games together and put in the performances and that has obviously stood me in good stead."

Wood has taken 74 wickets for Durham at an average of 26.16.
