Glamorgan fined, docked points for 'dangerous pitch'

An ECB disciplinary panel docks Glamorgan two points and passes down a heavy fine after their Royal London One-Day Cup match against Hampshire was abandoned.

Glamorgan have been docked two points and handed a hefty fine after their Royal London One-Day Cup match against Hampshire was abandoned due to safety concerns.

The umpires called the game off after two Hampshire batsmen were struck by rising deliveries at the SWALEC Stadium.

As well as fining Glamorgan £9,000 - £5,000 of which is suspended - an England and Wales Cricket Board Disciplinary Panel also passed down a suspended two-point deduction.

The fine and potential deduction will be implemented if any pitch is adjudged to be unfit next season.

Hugh Morris, chief executive of the Welsh county, has vowed to investigate the dangerous pitch.
