India beat Australia by 73 runs

India record their fourth straight win in the T20 World Cup after beating Australia by 73 runs this afternoon.

India have recorded their fourth successive win in the T20 World Cup group stage, beating Australia by 73 runs this afternoon.

There was little at stake for both sides in Mirpur this afternoon, with the Aussies consigned to elimination following two defeats and their Indian counterparts already through to the semi-finals.

However, the minimal permutations of the result did not stop India from registering their highest total of the tournament thus far by reaching 159-7 at the end of their overs.

Yuvraj Singh (60) starred for the South Asians by recording a half-century, while captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (24) and Virat Kohli (23) also produced respectable contributions at the crease.

India proved similarly as menacing when Australia took to the crease, as Ravi Ashwin took four wickets to dismiss Aaron Finch (6), David Warner (19), Glenn Maxwell (23) and James Muirhead (3) as George Bailey's side fell to 83 all out.
