India have kicked off the Super 10 phase of the World Twenty20 by beating Pakistan by seven wickets and with nine balls remaining.
Pakistan took to the crease first after their fierce rivals won the toss and elected to field in Mirpur.
The first blow was made when Kamran Akmal (8) was run out after Pakistan posted just nine runs on the board, while Umar Akmal eventually top scored with 33 from 30 balls.
Pakistan finished their innings on 130-7, while India's Amit Mishra recorded bowling figures of 2-22 before India took to the bat.
It was a positive start from openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who racked up a combined 38 off six overs, with Dhawan eventually falling after a knock of 30 from 28 deliveries.
Virat Kohli led the line for India as he finished the innings unbeaten on 36, while Suresh Raina also ended not out on 35 to guide India to their first points in Group Two.
