The result has ended the unbeaten home run of Chennai, who keep their place at the top of the standings.

MS Dhoni top-scored for the hosts with an unbeaten knock of 39 runs off 32 deliveries, while Pawan Negi contributed 36 runs.

Every player reached double figures with the bat and Chennai reached 20 overs on 158 runs with the loss of five wickets.

In reply, Mumbai openers Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel put on a first-wicket partnership of 84 before the latter was dismissed for 45.

Simmons contributed with 38 runs, while unbeaten knocks of 34 and 21 from Ambati Rayudu and Hardik Pandya respectively pushed the visitors over the line with four balls remaining.
