New Zealand's Twenty20 captain Brendon McCullum has said that his side must "bounce back" after a heavy defeat to England in Auckland.
The tourists hit a record score of 214 before comfortably defending the total in Auckland to go 1-0 ahead in the three-game series.
"We were outplayed today by a far better team on the day," McCullum said.
"We missed our basics. Batting, bowling, in the field. We've got another game in a few days and we need to make sure we rectify those errors.
"Credit goes to England for the way they played. We've just got to bounce back from this."
The second T20 is in Hamilton on Tuesday.
