New Zealand have released a list of 20 players who have been awarded contracts, with six men being named in the group for the first time.
Hamish Rutherford has been given a contract for the first time after making his Test debut against England in March, while Mitchell McClenaghan is also rewarded for his fine form in the Champions Trophy.
Corey Anderson, Tom Latham, Bruce Martin and Colin Munro join the list as well after making breakthroughs on the international scene over the past year.
Former captain Daniel Vettori turned down an offer of a contract due to ongoing concerns over the spinner's long-term fitness.
"We believe that the 20 players selected will provide the most value to the Black Caps over what is an exciting period for the team," coach Mike Hesson told reporters.
"With nine changes from last years contracted list, it's evident that competition for places is high."
New Zealand contracted players: Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Doug Bracewell, Dean Brownlie, Grant Elliott, Peter Fulton, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Bruce Martin, Mitchell McClenaghan, Brendon McCullum, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Colin Munro, Hamish Rutherford, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Neil Wagner, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson
