New Zealand have suspended Jesse Ryder and Doug Bracewell after the pair were caught drinking following Wednesday's defeat to South Africa.
Batsmen Ryder and fast bowler Bracewell are understood to have been involved in an altercation with members of the public on the night too, despite the pair both currently being absent from action with injuries.
A New Zealand Cricket statement said: "Team protocols dictate that players who are rehabilitating from injury should not consume alcohol and unfortunately both players went to a Napier hotel following the conclusion of the match.
"Also, while at the hotel both players verbally reacted to taunts from a member for the public."
Ryder has been warned twice before by the New Zealand Circket Board for his off-field behaviour.
