New Zealand hammer Pakistan in Wellington to win Twenty20 series

New Zealand bowl out Pakistan for just 101 to seal a thumping 95-run win in the third and deciding Twenty20 international in Wellington.

New Zealand have annihilated Pakistan by 95 runs in Wellington to seal a 2-1 Twenty20 series victory.

After setting a new T20 record for an opening-wicket partnership in the Black Caps' win to level the series on Sunday, Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson again dominated from the word go after Pakistan decided to field.

Guptill was first to go for 42 off just 19 balls, with Williamson adding 33 before he fell to Wahab Riaz.

The latter's dismissal brought Colin Munro to the crease and he powered the hosts to 196-5 by the end of their 20 overs with an unbeaten knock of 82 in just 42 balls that included 10 boundaries.

In reply, Pakistan lost star batsman Mohammad Hafeez (2) on the first ball of the second over and in the end only two players made it into double figures as the Kiwi attack tore through the tourists.

Sarfraz Ahmed - with 41 off 36 balls - was the only bright spark, with Pakistan all out for 101 in the 17th over. Adam Milne and Grant Elliott took three wickets each for New Zealand.

Wellington is also the venue for the first of three one-day internationals between the pair on Monday.
