Glamorgan cancel tomorrow's Twenty20 match out of respect for late Tom Maynard

Glamorgan postpone T20 clash

Glamorgan have announced that they will postpone tomorrow's Twenty20 match against Worcestershire following the death of their former batsman Tom Maynard.

The 23-year-old, who left Glamorgan for Surrey last year, was killed by a London Underground District Line train in the early hours of Monday morning.

Before the decision to postpone the match was made, club captain Mark Wallace told BBC Radio Wales: "I can't really see there being much appetite for play. We inhabit a world as professional cricketers where we put a lot of importance on something that at the end of the day sometimes really doesn't matter that much, so I think this has put a lot of perspective into our lives."

Meanwhile, England and the West Indies will hold a minute's silence ahead of their second one-day international this morning at The Oval.

Glamorgan have rescheduled the Twenty20 match for July 3.
