James Taylor has admitted that England's slow start against Bangladesh on the opening day of the second Test meeting could cost them the chance of claiming a 2-0 series win.
The tourists only took one wicket before lunch on day one in Dhaka, as Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque made the most of their opponents' underwhelming bowling display.
England did step things up in the remaining sessions, though, with 12 wickets falling as Bangladesh collapsed to 220 all out before play was brought to an end due to bad weather.
Taylor is unsure whether England, who find themselves on 50-3 heading into day two, have done enough to wrestle back control of the Test.
"In international cricket where things happen so quickly, every session is so important," he told Sky Sports News. "Bangladesh got far too many runs for England's liking in that first session.
"England will admit themselves that they bowled poorly. It was a bit frenetic and it wasn't easy for [Alastair] Cook to juggle his bowlers, it wasn't easy full stop.
"There was no consistency, they bowled poorly but you also have to give credit to Bangladesh. They batted outstandingly. Tamim was brilliant, Mominul as well, so that partnership could prove vital in this game. But there is still so much cricket to be played and we've seen how quickly things can change."
Ben Duckett (7), Cook (14) and Gary Ballance (9) were the three England players to fall on the opening day.
