Lancashire release Saj Mahmood

Former England fast bowler Saj Mahmood has been released by Lancashire.

The 30-year-old, who spent 10 years at Old Trafford, rarely featured for the Red Rose outfit this season and finished the summer on loan at Somerset.

"We would like to thank Saj for his contribution over the last 10 years and we wish him well for the future," said Lancashire director of cricket Mike Watkinson.

Mahmood has represented England eight times at Test level and made 26 ODI appearances.

Naqaash Tahir, who signed from Warwickshire last summer, has also left Old Trafford.

Tahir, 28, failed to make a single appearance for Lancashire.
